This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 05, 2008:
When was the last time you were really listened to?
Listen
the earth always listens
to my cries
to my joys
the earth always listens
to my waste
to my haste
the earth always listens
to my cares
to my swears
the earth always listens
i shall empty my cup
give the rice in my bowl
the earth always listens
please tell me about
your culture
tell me your stories
tell me your dreams
i will listen with the earth
we'll sit under a tree
and smile and laugh
while the birds listen to us
and the roses in the fields
all listening to us sing
are you mad at me?
i don't think so
if so i want to know
you speak, i will listen
who says there is no heaven
to listen is to be in heaven
to be listened to
is more than heaven.
listen
all of this will be yours
if you just
listen.
the earth is trying
to tell you something,
are you listening?
the earth is crying
and needs to be loved
are you listening?
the wind is whispering
the leaves are rustling
the oceans are shouting
the rivers are yelling
the forests are helpless
the fields, the fields
cannot say anything
anymore
they are deteriorating
the air that you breathe
is trying to tell you
something
are you listening?
the earth listens to you
but are you listening
to the earth?
care for the earth
and the earth cares
for you
care for others
and others will care
for you
if not then still care
care for your body temple
for to care is to listen
to listen to history
to listen to tales
to listen to fables
to listen to legends
to listen to myths
to listen to humanity
listen, listen, listen
to your mind
to your heart
to your soul
to your spirit
to other people's hearts
listen to smiles
and respond back with
a smile and a hug.
learn to listen
learn to forgive
learn to surrender
in light you will receive
listen to heartbeats
and synchronize with
the melody and be in
harmony with the world.
listen to the
music of the heart
one heart beating as
one.

This post reminded me of an old song we use to sing at the ashrams. Yogananda
started it many years ago…
I Will Never Forget Thee - Paramhansa Yogananda-Wave of the Sea
Listen to I Will Never Forget Thee
Listen, listen, listen to my heart's song,
Listen, listen, listen to my heart's song:
I will never forget Thee; I will never forsake Thee;
I will never forget Thee; I will never forsake Thee.
Thank you Ladybear for the link to the song. It is a nice addition associated to this blog. Have you attended Ananda gatherings here?
I went to Ananda ashram in the mid 70's, but that was it.
I have an interesting story about that trip there. I spent one night at the Ashram with some people from “The Yea God Family” a yogi group that I was with at the time.
When I got online in 1996, I got an email from a woman named Elizabeth and she asked if I had ever been to Ananda. She recognized the name Ladybear. I said yes, for one night and she said he had a photo of me from my visit. I didn't even remember she took the photo!
It blew me away that after 20 years, she still had the photo and remembered me because of my name!
Divine Poem Samme!
Beyonce's song Listen is soooo Powerful! WoooHoooo, Full of Shakti ;-)
There are nice video links, Samme, and your poem is wonderful. It was really helpful also about the link to your other blog about Dryad. I was confused, but now I'm not! :) Thanks!
