The One In The Mirror

Posted on Apr 6th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
Weekly Kabbalah Tune Up
April 6 - 12, 2008
You Spot It, You Got It
A student recently wrote to me: "I want to stop judging people but I can't. It's like breathing, it's part of who I am and what I do. I'd have an easier time holding my breath. What can I do?"

The great sage known as the Baal Shem Tov said something beautiful that speaks to this, but it's not poetry or philosophy or a metaphor or a nice way to live your life. It's reality what I'm about to share with you. Here it is:

Whatever annoying behavior you see in someone else is inside you. That person is a mirror showing you what you've got to correct in your life. Somewhere within your consciousness, either on the surface, mid-level, or deep within, you have the exact same trait you are judging.

Now we've heard this all before. People are mirrors, we get it Yehuda. But the Baal Shem Tov goes one step further. He says, not only do you have to accept responsibility that what you see is inside of you, but you must know with certainty the person will never change until you do.

That's a mind-bender. You are responsible for every person you see in your life? Yes! And once you accept that charge, redirecting judgment onto your own behavior and making the change within, you'll see the change reflected in them.

There's one more part. I can say to you that the people in your life are also responsible for what happens inside of you. But you can't say it. And I can't say it about me. You get it? If we did, then we'd use it as an excuse to take less than 100% responsibility.

Spirituality is technology; it's the way the universe is hardwired. God, "in his infinite wisdom", [which is nothing but a giant computer calculation] arranges everything, karmically speaking, so that the people we need to confront will be in our lives.

This week, think twice about that annoying person in front of you. Maybe you won't stop judging over night, but at least you can begin to be aware of the judgment mechanism. Use the Baal Shem Tov's words as a weapon in the war against your own ego. Go inside. Take responsibility. Make some changes these next seven days.

When you do, it will feel amazing because not only will you get to change, but you will get to relieve yourself of the burning burden of judgment and hatred. Now that's what I call freedom.

All the best,

Yehuda

72 Name of the Week

I need to be painfully honest! I acknowledge every person or group of people that stir up feelings of anger, envy, malice, total disgust, or any combination thereof. With the Light of this Name, I have the power to drop the poisonous negative feelings that exist inside me!

We've all heard this before and I have heard this before and yet I continually had let  some other people get the best of me or the worst in me.  What I need to do is to "give the best of me" everytime.  I have to change constantly and remind myself for the better to become the best of me. I choose to be responsible for my own actions and hope that we become all responsible for our own and become one.
the best of me,
Samme
What did you feel watching the video? Did negative thoughts came in or you have let the positive energy rise above the negative side? Did you focus on the message of the song for your own or did something else bothered you? Thank you Michael Jackson for this song. I still adore him and his songs.

Ramblin' Poetry

Posted on Apr 7th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
Oh I was a boy and singing
"How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?"
you know by the Beegees, it is
and I ask my mother when I was
just a little boy, I asked my mother
"What will I be?"
Looking at the moon and
pointing to it while my reflection
can be seen on the river
I was on Moon River
with my huckleberry friend
Oh mother what is a broken heart?
You will see and there will be
plenty of times that you will be
and when you do even though
I am not around that you stay
strong.
Just let it be
My mother said and mother Mary
speaking words of wisdom
let it be.
It's a little bit funny
this feeling inside
I hope you don't mind
that I put down your words
on this starry, starry night
I am singing and rowing my boat
gently down the stream
I plucked a rose from the banks
of the river some say love it is a
river
I say love, I want to know what love is
there will be time for that
and when you do, rejoice
and when you don't, rejoin
in you is love.
Oh what a beautiful morning
What a difference a day makes
and years gone by
and now I am here
all grown up looking back at that
little boy lost
and now I am found
I was lost, found, brokenhearted
and now I see that it all makes
sense to me.
Those times are essential
the good , the bad and the ugly
to make me and mold me
into what I am now.
How can I shine
if I am not weathered, hurt
or be in the dark.
I can see now the light
as I am coming out of the dark
light and dark
are there all along
love is here all along
I am here all along not alone
What I want for me
I will
give!

Oh my god, I thought I lost this poem that I am just extemporaneously typing in when the Microsoft updates box appeared and asked me to "restart"" the computer and I press enter and the screen went blank and the computer shuts down.  I thought I lost the poem but I thought Oh well.  When I booted up again and opened my browser, it is still here.  The browser I am using?  Firefox.  : )   As Wordpress says, "Code is poetry."

Who have you underestimated?

Posted on Apr 19th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 19, 2008:

I have underestimated "myself".
I did not know what I am capable
of doing and becoming
I did not know what I am worth
and what I can be
I did not know when I can create change
which is always now
the present moment
I did not know why I
felt stuck and that
I can unstuck myself
better than anybody else
who knows how to
unstuck me.
I did not know the how
of a lot of things and when
I did learn I am surprised
that I have underestimated myself.
I did not know where I must be
until I acknowledge that
I can only be here now
whereever I am and that is
enough to make myself
more than what I was
and what I thought of.

For Earth Day

Lena Zavaroni sings Corner Of The Sky

Fire on the Water, Smoke Goes Up To the Sky Let's hope the Heart

SMOKE ON THE RIVER

Smoke on the water

Fire in the sky

Playing on your ipod

Headphones stuck

In your ears

Blaring under the sun

Cars running on the

Freeway like rabbits

On the meadow

Spewing toxic gases

That you cannot see

Anymore.

Fire in the sky

Eye in the sky

Or is that a hole

In the sky
Let's hope the heart clouds
will rain us with love.

Can't you read my mind?

Deep purple is a

Pretty color but not

On the water

Where the river rambles.

Earth day is a hurt day

When you see that it's okay

For mankind to litter

It's bitter and not better

Don't butter and don't

Bother, brother

And sisters come join

The revolution

The earth will prosper

And this is proper

For generations not  to

Flounder.

Smoke on the Water Matrix

Writers wield out your pens, scribes your quills
Artists splash your colors to the wind and independently
Respectively to maya and devoted to gaia
Musicians blare out your improvisations loud
Let it be the state of the nation, commotion
Love under jurisdiction to the earth we belong
Let the dwellers dwell and the roamers roam
Sing out your maharlika to the raja maja santana
Out to the universe where on the other end
God sleeping will wake up from our hauntings
Night is the darkness where in our mind commences
The illusion that there is a there and that here is nowhere.
Dancers dance your dances prances to the stanzas.
Acrobats, leap to your imagination and fly to ascension.
This is the time that gaia do not mind
Shake out your hurts, rattle out the battles between the
nations, stations, oh what on earth is the notion
Roll out the candelabras, light up the candles,
Cast out that spell, leviosa
The shamans awaken, the witches and druids
Comes out of the light, not darkness, intuitive
Cry out in happiness, yes cry out loud in happiness
Maybe six billion and one soul crying
Tears flowing to the ground drying
Gaia will once again
feel,
heal,
still.

In Memory Of...,

Posted on Apr 24th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
This is for our friend Buddingspritelet, whose sister Andrea transitioned on to the next life. Our prayers are with you and to Andrea.

Mariah Carey - Bye Bye (Live at American Idol 7)

About one and a half year ago, I created a pod called Zaadz Memorial when Gaia used to be Zaadz. It is a pod where we can memorialized our loved ones who transitioned on to the next life. I deleted the pod because I thought that it will be too depressing for some but now would like to revisit that concept, if you will, because it is a fact of life and it might help our friends to be able to deal with their feelings a little. So now instead of putting up a new pod just for the idea, I created a new board in my Booklovers pod so that members can, if they choose to, to create an online altar or their sacred space. The new Gaia Memorial is at the bottom of the list of boards if you want to visit it. Namaste.

your friend in happiness and time of sorrow,
Samme

COME WHAT MAY

Many tears we have cried
To our loved ones
Who have died
And now another friend
Is grieving
Due to the loss of a
Baby sister
She needs comforting
Although our friendship
Is virtual
I can see no other one
As profound and spiritual
Than the friendships
We have honed
Through the years
Our love have shown
That family is not just
Something you own
A family is something
You do not have  and  yet
They make you their own.
We love
We laugh
We play all the way
Each and everyday
And sometimes we cry
Like now for our friend
Who is mourning
We may have never seen
Each other
But our love is deep as
The deepest river, flowing
Across the mother Gaia
Touching lives and hearts
This is not maya
And yet thru our heartaches
We still learned to transcend
The mundane and the
Transitoriness our lives contain
In our sorrow we still play
Dryad has given us a way
A way of life to live and love
In sorrow we still play
'Cause up above our
Beloved ones come what may
Are dancing together
And saying, look our families
Have gotten together
Thru their virtual friendships
We in heaven
Have come together
And we are looking after them
And will greet them
When it's their time to be here
We will play
As always
Come what may.

DEVDAS

Posted on Apr 25th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme

If you have not done so yet, I recommend for all of you to rent and view the movie titled DEVDAS, a Bollywood film from India.  It stars the king of Bollywood Sha Rukh Khan, Aishwaria Rai and Madhuri Dixit.  If you have not seen any Bollywood movie at all this movie is one of the best movies to watch.  The production was so grand and the movie is just beautiful and sometimes heartachingly beautiful.  This was the first Indian movie to open the Cannes Film Festival.  You can rent it at Netflix or try looking it up if you have a Blockbuster account.  If you do not have either of the two online account, you may want to visit your local India store if they have a video section.  Go ahead browse around do not be afraid.  Get one of those sliced mango in a plastic container, they are delicious.  You may have not visited your local Indian store but do not be afraid they are friendly.  You will be broadening your cultural knowledge and tastes when you do this and when you watch a movie like Devdas if you have not seen any Bollywood movie before.  There's several dance choreography  that are juxtaposed throughout the film.  Let me know if you see it and tell us what you think of the movie.  While you are in the store you might as well rent Kabhie Kushi Kabhie Gham.  It is a wonderful movie as well.  There goes your cultural studies for today.

Devdas Music Video Tribute *Spoilers*

Dola Re Dola - Devdas

This next video features Madhuri Dixit and Sha Rukh Khan.  Madhuri is a courtesan who sees the true love of her life in Sha Rukh Khan but SRK only loves Paro (Aishwaria Rai).

Maar Daala

Thank you and enjoy watching this movie,

MY AMAZON KINDLE

Posted on Apr 28th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
I love to read.  That is why i created the pod Booklovers here in Gaia.  And i also love gadgets.  I recently purchased the new wireless reading device from amazon called Kindle.  I am in love with it and still enjoy reading on it.  Of course I still love books on paper form but this Amazon Kindle is in a way much different than the other electronic readers out there.  The features that I like with this device are: you can connect to Amazon and browse books, newspapers, magazine, blogs that you want to purchase and it will download instantly to your device which does not cost extra, you can upload your pdf documents and pdf ebooks by emailing it to your Kindle email address, the cost of buying a book to download is about 60% cheaper than buying it in paper form (a hardcover book that is selling for $27 will only cost $9.99 for the most part to download to your Kindle), etc.  It can access the Wikipedia for free.  The very first thing that I downloaded is A New Earth by Eckart Tolle even though I already have that in paper form.  I downloaded San Francisco Chronicle, some magazines, blogs, and more additional books.  Forget about saying, "I have 6 books waiting for me to read them on my bedside table."  With the stuff I have downloaded the new thing to say is, "I have 1 gigabyte of data waiting for me to read."    If you want to know more about this awesome new wireless device from Amazon called Kindle please click here and hopefully you buy one and we can discuss about that in Booklovers pod.  Thank you!

Blogging Towards Enlightenment

Posted on Apr 29th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
Img_0011
photo taken may 3, 2008 by samme s.

There it stood
tuft by tuft
leaves are pressed
and drops of water
descended.

Drops of water
were once
drops of water
from the gardener's hand
and the wide tuftness
of flowers
were once a
grassy lawn.

I do not wait
I let waiting
wait for me and
neither do I cry
I let crying cries
for me.

All I see is a layer
layer upon layers
veil upon veils
walls upon walls
reach out for my
hand and I am
gone.

It reminded me
of that time in
Villa Zaragoza
where silence is
king and peace
reigns supreme.
Just like me
under the earth
I wish I could
glimpse at the
skies.

The moment I fell
asleep I dream of
you.
No, I do not want to
sleep, I want to
stay awake here
waiting for you
but I am not the one
waiting
When I begin to fly
it will rain.

Gone are those
moments where
time stood still
and the butterflies
passing by
the dew where the
universe is contained
the hummingbird
swiftly sipped
away.

No, I do not say goodbye
I am a soul eternal
perpetually moving
coming and going
Once I was a drop of
rain that felt the
kiss of your lips
and now I am a
part of you
you've got the
whole universe
inside of you.

A Very Short story

Posted on Apr 29th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme

Jim is a typical human being that comprises 90% of the earth's population.  He went to school and took postgraduate, got a job, raised a family, was religious when he was young  and forgotten about God and then died.  Well still Jim was a decent person so he went  to heaven and finally learned the mysteries of life.

"Where am I?", asked Jim to one of the millions of heavenly people.
"You are in heaven, Jim, remember when you were a boy you always looked up to the skies and said that one day I am going up to heaven and meet God."
"So I made it up here, cool!"
"No Jim, you made it down here."
"What do you mean, I am looking up to heaven so it is "up here."
"That's what you Gaians think but we here in heaven are looking up to earth wondering when do we get to go there.  Some of us have been up there and still would like to come back to earth.  All those times all of you are thinking that you are looking up to us while in fact you are looking down to us, we in heaven are all looking up to you on earth.  What a paradise that place is. "
"So all of you wants to go...,up there to earth?  It is not beautiful up there, there's wars, etc."
"You can do something about it but you did not, not just you but a lot of you."
"So can I meet God?  Is he here, where is he?"
"God is a he and a she and you left God up there on earth."
"What do you mean, God is right there with us on earth?"
"Yes everybody are, each one is a God to you and you are God to them."
"So all those time I would like to meet God, they are my friends, my families, and strangers and enemies I could have befriended?  And I left all of them there?  I took my own life in vain?  So when does this story ends...,?"
"It doesn't."

Stroke of Insight

Posted on Apr 30th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
I would love to share this video for the wonderful message it gives us. We do not have to extensively study the workings of our brains nor have a debilitating stroke like the speaker had to know and do what is best for ourselves and humanity. Please watch this wonderful video and meditate on its message. Namaste! Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another. .

Enlightenment Is Just One Gigabyte Away!

Posted on Apr 30th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
I would like to share these resources that have helped me the past years.  Even if you are not a Buddhist practitioner, if you do choose to listen and study these materials, I hope that they will help you and everyone for the hightest good of all.  A lot of people around the globe are turned off by spiritual materialism.  These materials are offered free online.  Please be patient while listening to the lectures as some of them go back and forth into a foreign language and then to English.  A lot of them are long lectures and goes up to over an hour.  I suggest for anyone to download these on their computer and then buy an mp3 player that is over one gigabyte.  You should be able to put a lot of lectures in that kind of mp3 player.  They come cheaper now and a lot of them are really tiny so it will not be too cumbersome for you to carry them around and listen to whenever you got the chance to listen to  your Buddhism audio library.  I am posting this so that it might comfort anyone who listens to any of these.  I will be posting more later if you want to.  Buddha said not to believe any of his teachings.  You should try them first and see if it works for you.   Namaste!
