Don't Know Much About...,

Posted on Feb 5th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme

In chemistry, He Turned water to wine.

In biology, He was born without the normal conception.

In physics, He disproved the law of gravity when He ascended into heaven.

In economics, He disproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5,000 men and women with two fishes and 5 loaves of bread.

In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind, without administering a single dose of drugs.

In history, He is the beginning and the end.

In government, He said that He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace.

In religion, He said no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him master; had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher; had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no armies, yet rulers feared him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

I feel honored to serve such a leader who loves us!
Join us and let's celebrate Him; He is worthy.

Remain in God and seek His face always.

(not original to me, taken from those chain emails).

Thank you,
Samme (Living la vie da rosa)

DARING TO WRITE

USPS joins HBO to promote John Adams miniseries

USPS and Home Box Office (HBO) are jointly promoting the upcoming cable network's miniseries, John Adams, and National Card and Letter Writing Month.

The HBO production is based on the book John Adams, by Pulitzer Prize winner David McCullough. The best-selling biography of the founding father centers on the letters Adams and his wife, Abigail, wrote each other during their courtship and 54-year marriage.

Beginning this week, USPS launches a multi-faceted 60-day campaign highlighting the HBO series' focus on the Adams family letters and encouraging Americans to rediscover letter writing, especially in March during National Card and Letter Writing Month.

The USPS campaign includes a national cancellation featuring an Adams quote, "Let us dare to read, think, speak and write," and a new website - http://www.poweroftheletter.com/. Postal receipts from point-of-service terminals and Automated Postal Centers will include the Adams quote and the website. Standees and window clings will appear in nearly 12,000 Post Offices around the country promoting the website and the miniseries.

"We've been delivering the power of the written word - including those letters written by Adams - for more than 230 years," said Joanne Giordano, vice president, Public Affairs and Communications. "As a nation, we cherish the letters of great Americans because they help us understand our common history. This campaign will allow us to promote our brand, our products and the lost art of letter writing."

HBO will premiere its seven-part miniseries with two episodes on Sunday evening, March 16. Episodes 3-7 will air the subsequent five Sundays, with the series ending on April 20.

LOVE GROWS EVERYWHERE

A TANGIBLE ACT OF LOVE

A mother's Valentine's Day message from Iraq

A postcard Army Maj. Elizabeth Robbins has drawn for her daughter, Rachel.

"Mommy and Rachel write thank you letters" says one postcard from Army Maj. Elizabeth Robbins to her daughter.

When Army Maj. Elizabeth Robbins was deployed to Iraq last year, her daughter Rachel was only a year old.

"For awhile, I mentally pretended that I didn't have kids, blunting my heartache with nonstop work," Robbins remembered in a National Public Radio commentary about Valentine's Day messages.

Robbins mailed her preteen son postcards, but didn't want to send "pictures of tanks and Humvees" to Rachel. A colleague suggested she make her own cards, so she did.

"Drawing them is a tangible act of love that I know will soon be held by my baby," Robbins said. "A physical connection through the miracle of the U.S. Mail."

Every card has a title - Mommy and Rachel go hiking, Mommy and Rachel plant a tree, Mommy and Rachel make cookies.

Robbins' husband says that Rachel understands the cards are from her mother and she hugs them when they arrive. "I feel better knowing that," Robbins says. "If something happens here, my baby will have something concrete to know what mattered to me, and what my dreams were for us both."

I NEED ALL YOUR POSITIVE COLLECTIVE THOUGHTS!

(Birthday card from my dearest friend Winnie, Dryad.  Thank you very much)

I have been scheduled for the 712 typing exam on February 27, 2008 at 7:00 am.  From now until then please pray, meditate, affirmed, send wonderful thoughts, say a mantra and affirmations for me that I will pass my typing exam.

This is an example of the type of material which will be presented to you in the actual typing examination, the test material is double-spaced for your reading convenience; however, your typed material on the computer must be single-spaced.  You will not need to hit the Enter key at the end of each line since the computer will automatically throw the carriage for you.  Also, do not add spaces at the end of a paragraph or the computer will count them as errors.  When you reach the end of the paragraph you are to double space, tab and then begin the next paragraph.  If you finish both paragraphs before time is up, simply double space, tab and begin with the first paragraph again.  The computer will time your test for you.

with love,
Samme

OKAY FOR SOME GOOD NEWS!

Posted on Feb 28th, 2008 by Samme : Prince of Rainbows<3 Samme
Typingmonkey

Good news friends,
As you read from my blog just below this one that I took a typing test for a different job position.  Well the good news is "I did not pass the typing test."  Say what?  Am I being sarcastic?  I did  not passed and yet I said it is still "good news".  No I am not.  I "chose" my words that I would like to think and say.  My "not passing" the typing test is NOT a reflection of me.  I am more than that.  And no I am not being "arrogant" or shall I say vindictive.  It is just that this is another "gift" that I have learn from a new  lesson.  And all the "positive thoughts and comments that you sent my away did NOT go to waste, they are there in the universe waiting to manifest.  And wow I am typing this so fast that it literally comes out of my thoughts, thinking out loud kind of laughing out loud.  "Don't cry for me Argentina, the truth is I never left you".  I diverse and break up with a song.  I still have a wonderful job, don't worry.  What I learned from this is like to become a modern "warrior", warrior meaning not being involved in a war or conflict but to become a master of oneself.  I will buy myself a new laptop and will just carry that all around with me and just practice typing for thirty minutes or one hour in a cafe, in a park, or wherever.  So that when opportunity arises I am ready to tackle that part.  And not just in typing.  I have decided to do this "mastery" in other parts of my life.  Like being present, just simply present.  The secret to success is just to show up, and maybe you can add "prepared".  And that's what I am going to do.  Warriors from long ago carried swords, sabres, archery, not out of brutal killing but of skillful valor.  Maybe I can also title this blog entry "ZEN AND THE ART OF TYPING".  It is not enough that we can "finger type" but it would be wonderful to be able to type with correct fingering and with speed and accuracy.  In contrast with "meditation" we do not have to speed up but to slow down and when we master that we might find accuracy in our chosen methods of meditation from different traditions or maybe you just made it your own.  And that is okay.  I am here right now in this keyboard typing this blog entry and my thoughts.  All of what have happened to me before have prepared me "just" for this moment.  Nothing else.  Now!  The present.  Be still.  Be calm.  Be aware.  Relax.  Remember.  Forget.  Love.  Smile.  Breathe.  Simple, just simple.  No fanfares.  No bugles, no trills.  No parades or floating balloons.  No crowds to cheer you on.  No one to pat your back.  BUT!  There is!  You are.  You can sing, you can dance, you can celebrate yourself.  You can play an instrument in honor of you.  You can cheer yourself on and darn it you can pat your back and say to yourself "You are marvelous, you are magnificent."  "I am marvelous, I am magnificent."  Not getting something does not mean "losing".  It might not mean anything, or it might mean "winning" in the end or in the near future.  Do not fret.  The only fret that you should be doing are the "frets" of a guitar.  Pick up a guitar and even if you do not know how to play just strum along and press your fingers on the "frets" and create your own tune and melody.  Feel the pressure of the fingers on the frets.  That is what is called "now".  All your life happened for you to come to that "one moment in time".  Isn't that peaceful?  You can learn how to play the guitar, some choose the steel string; others the nylon string.  The twang of the steel string or the boing of the nylon string connects with our mind and soul.  It resonates with our deepest, innermost feeling.  That place that few of us have been trying to find and chase and yet it is right here in front of us all along.  Now!  The present.  Be here.  Choose to live.
Choose to love!  Choose to give!  Choose to smile!  Choose to forgive!  Choose to "let go"!  Choose to forget!  Choose to start over!  Choose to give yourself a second chance over and over no matter how much you stumble because the only the will get up is still "YOU"!  You!  You are the one.  We are all one!  We are all connected.  Choose to connect.  Choose to know and learn.  Choose to communicate; telephone calls, emails, meetings, hugs, or you can "type".  No matter how slow you are at this moment.  You can still convey your feelings to somebody and that will reach the core of their hearts (le couer).  We all have setbacks.  We are sometimes weak.  Go ahead and be weak but let others be "strong" for you.  Reach out.  Feel your feelings.  It is okay to be lazy just as long as you will get out of it.  We all have our phases.  Let it be!  Ride the wave, the crests and the throughs.  You have come to this one moment in your life, wherever you may be.  This is the greatest gift.  Because you can do something about it.  You can choose to be happy for yourself and you can make others happy.  The universe is infinite.  INFI NEAT!  Endless abundance.  Endless love.  Do not stop love.  Do not be the one to stop love.  Keep on loving even though when you feel you are alone and no one is loving you.  You are loved!  You are being loved!  The universe is taking care of you.  Do not worry!  Do not be afraid to be "sappy".  Do not strive for perfection but strive for your own creativity.  Some "arts" are askew but considered to be a "masterpiece."  There are a lot of masterpieces all around, do you notice?  It is "YOU", it is "ME".  It is "US".  And it is not just "THEM" but "ALL" of "US" as one in love in life.  All these things I wrote I do not have to "backspace" nor I have to "delete" anything.  It came from my heart from somewhere else, maybe from all of us since we are all one.  Somebody believed one thing is not going to happen though, that 1,000 monkeys typing on a typewriter will one day be able to produce "HAMLET".  To be or not to be that is the ?  But, then again, come to think of it, "If a million monkeys sat at a million computers over a million years, the result would be something".  Isn't that amazing!

The wonderful possibilities are endlesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
