Hundreds of thousands people who supports marriage equality towards gays and lesbians rallied and marched around the Sacramento Capitol from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday Nov. 22, 2008. LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender), straight men, straight women, straight couples, teens, youths, children and seniors all rallied and marched to repeal and overturn Prop. 8 which bans same-sex marriage. This is not just about marriage but a discrimination, injustice and a violation to people's constitutional rights and human rights. This is about equality and love.
I am a peaceful person. I do not fight. But in this matter I'd say I will fight not just for my rights but for the rights of all people who are denied theirs. I will fight for equality, freedom and love in a "nonviolent way".
So many people have come and gone and are still living who tirelessly fought for the freedom we are experiencing today. There's lots of work still to be done and we cannot just stay complacent.
Same-sex marriage is not a moral issue and it is not perversion. Marriage is a civil right and not just a heterosexual privilege. How can you deny same-sex couples the right that heterosexuals couples have been granted for over a millenia. This is not taking what is yours or tainting what is yours. This is a testament to love and for love.
We are all one! We are love! How can you support "hate" by voting for propositions such as Proposition 8 which bans same-sex marriage? What are we showing the children? Are you one of those who voted for Prop.8 and thus foster hate and intolerance not just to gays and lesbians but fostering "hate and intolerance" period!?!? Focus on your own family. Teach your children values and guide them well. Do not teach them that "love" is not just for some but it is for "everyone".
What are you afraid of? Are you afraid to live next door to a same-sex couples? Are you afraid to meet same-sex couples wherever you go. Are you afraid to live in a city or a country with same-sex couples? You see my friend, my brothers and sisters of this same earth we live in, we are not going away. Gays and lesbians are here, there and everywhere. We do not do this to spite you or to make you mad. This is not a question or an issue of "lifestyle". We are what we are. I am what I am. You are what you are. We have no agenda but to go on living and surviving just like you on this beautiful planet earth.
Can't you see? A lot of straight men and women are also rallying for our cause. Why are you still in the dark? Why stay in the dark? Don't you know that being in the light is much more wonderful? Straight couples with their kids rally for our cause. They are not afraid to bring their kids to rally with us. They teach their kids about love. They communicate and dialog with their kids that hate, fear and discrimination can be overcome with tolerance, equality and love. What are you teaching your kids? Focus on your own family.
Love your neighbors as you love yourself. Do you love yourself? If you have hate towards your neighbors (not just about gays and lesbians) then you have "hate" for your self. Why do you want to cultivate "hate and intolerance" to yourself? Do you think the world will be a better place if you harbor your hate and intolerance? Do you think you are "right"? Do you think you are correct? Love will always win!
"Treat others as you wanted to be treated", is one of the variations of the golden rule which is common wisdom but hard to grasp by a lot of people. We did not do anything to you. You did it to us by voting for Prop 8 which is a propostion of hate. We did not do anything to you, your family or your kids. You are not protecting your kids by voting against propositions that takes away the human rights of other people and denying others their commitment of love and equality. And yet we refuse to be victims. We will be victors for love always wins!!! Focus on your own family.
The constitution states 'equal protection for all'. Where is the justice in this? Where is the peace? Peace is in our hearts and if we have compassion towards one another and love one another, peace and love will prevail.
Marriage is not just between a man and a woman. That is not what history and religion will have you believe because historically, history and religion denied people their basic human rights and termed them as second-class citizens or worst an outcaste or ostracized. Who are we to put or place judgments about other human beings when they all want is love and happiness? We all want love and happiness! But we should be all-inclusive wanting love, peace and happiness and not be exclusive.
There are wonderful and monumental events we have seen in our lifetimes and that is great; the crumbling of the wall that separate Germany, Britain giving back Hongkong to China, etc. Don't you want love and peace happen in your lifetime everywhere? Start with yourself. Think love, be love, Think peace, be peace. Cultivate compassion and do random acts of kindness and conscious acts of beauty. Start within you, within yourself.
"A journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step." Make your first step. Dig deep inside of you. You do not have to take anything for this journey but just an open heart and an open mind. We will all take different roads but we are going to the same destination and that is love and peace. The journey is the destination. Make everyday be a day of love and peace.

Great thoughts! I shall read and research about the Greeks, Romans and the Island of Lesbos for my policy and advocacy group. Come to think of it, we copied their 'democracy', we copied their architecture (like the Sacramento Capitol for one), we copied lots of their culture and yet a lot of people are denying that homosexuality is normal and accepted during the ancient Roman and Greek periods.

Same sex marriage is not a perversion.
My curious nature wonders how folks simply are blind to how they project their own fears on others because of their own insecurities about things they do not understand. This is commonly referred to as “Judgment”. So many expel beliefs and want to and do “push” their “Will” on others. This is what Prop 8 passing is all about. It was based on lies, supported by lies and tangled up in cleaver illusions to control others. I am also curious WHY others want to band commitment to love. It is my belief that it is the very perversions “unexpressed” that this “push one's Will on others” is all about. It is related to outdated energies.
This disqualified unloving energy is leaving Samme.

There were a small band of people there on one side of an intersection who are pro Prop. 8. They have placards stating that “gays=perverts”, “marriage is between a man and a woman”, “same-sex marriage is perversion”, etc. I just pray for them to find their own peace and that I pray much more to the victory of the lgbt community who are forever fighting for our rights of inclusion and recognition to society.

It is a blessing to KNOW.
I know, Samme, we are NOT for violence or pushing ourselves on others. However, I will STAND UP AGAINST injustice everytime. I have been violated MANY times in this world of “push” and “take over”. I WILL NOT tolerate is NOW.
I WILL NOT forget and move on in peace as it is presented to BE silent by the “push” and “take over” energies. This tactic is USED to quiet me TOO long because these cleaver illusions would have had me believe I need to let it be to “accept”. In discernment, there is a time to speak out against ignorance. It is what I have been doing for myself and others my entire life. It is why I am here too.
Using words to cause peacemakers to retreat is another cleaver illusion and way to cause peacemakers to be silent and sit back. Remember, “don't cause trouble”? It is not causing trouble to be out front and authentic against injustice.
Same sex marriage is NOT a perversion. To believe it is would be a “projection” of unexpressed desires to control by objectifying. Simple. The power of persuasion is amazing also here on this issue and others. It amazes me how so many are unable to feel their own fear. I pray for they will feel their own fear and refrain from pushing it on others. I pray they move this energy within them to release themselves from this energy.
This is a great subject and timely for discernment and clarification.
As you know Samme, I have believe in Divine Love.

Thank you Ariela, you have stated two important words that are important in this campaign: censorship and limitations. I affirm that people will come to realize that inclusion and equality will be the way to go forward.
And yes LeAnn, this proposition is based on lies, manipulation and control and inject fear to people. They have a clever tactic: “protect marriage”. A lot of people are led and controlled to believe that they are “protecting marriage” by voting for Prop. 8. I believe that the next time around, people will vote “for” same-sex marriage.

This is a great opportunity for all of us that live in North County to peacefully demonstrate our disappointment on the outcome of Prop 8.
Proposition 8 has changed us all, has made our LGBT communities much stronger even in North County, but it has also showed us that more education and information needs to be done.
As today, not many people are aware of the consequences of Prop 8; they believe that Domestic Partnerships are the same as Marriage, that we are granted Equal Rights and Freedoms as everyone else.
As we ask for the Repeal of Prop 8 we are engaging the community by creating more allies under the principle of Equality and Justice for All, our is a message of Unity and Inclusiveness for all.
Our Civil Rights should have never been put in the ballott.
HELP US, to spread the news, print this flyer (attached) post it to your local coffee shop or library, and tell your friends, cooworkers and family members that this March is not another protest, this is the place where everyone can come and learn more about our community and hear the stories of our struggle for Equality.
In addition, Please Support the North County LGBT Coalition efforts by printing out the flyer (also attached) about our fundraising with Ruby's Restaurant at the Pier and have dinner with us after the March.
It is a great opportunity to give back to our Community.

Thank you C.G. for your support. This is not just a United States issue but this is a global issue. Just like the the placard in one of my pictures says, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” The world needs to acknowledge that love is not just about gender nor color.
I am campaigning to everyone to please support “love and equality” in favor of marriage equality among same gender couples the next time this came out in the elections.
