Namo Quan Shi Yin Pu'sa, Namo Quan Shi Yin Bodhisattva,
Homage to Quan Yin
As my tribute to Kwan Yin Goddess of Mercy
I have started a project called
One Thousand Quan Yin Project
for us to put together 1,000 or so pictures,
artworks, and images of Quan Yin as a
peace process, meditation exercise,
love revolution, artistic endeavor
or a healing transformation
to awaken and enliven
the self, the family,
the community, and the world.
I encourage all to simply post their pictures
if they have anything to share with everybody.
You do not need to believe in Quan Yin.
All I want is to be able to
see images of Quan Yin in all her
representations and manifestations
in your area that I or others
may not be able to see. I need
for everybody to remember this project.
I hope for the best and I love to share
and make friends and to understand.
Please share your light to the world.
Thank you,
Samme

Hi Samme,
This is really a very nice video, but I already found it last year on Metacafe.
Did you know that Chinese dances where also influenced by “foreign” dances? In the past, I think it was during the Tang dynasty ( also famous for the statues of its horses), at this dynasty these dances were created. I think these influences came from India, when I am not mistaken. The Chinese adapted and made their own dances. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful Samme!

That was really cool! It made me ponder the reasons why Quan Yin would be portrayed as having that many hands. Thank you for posting this!
Transcending!
I watched this right after reading your haiku and I am crying and crying. It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The human body. The human mind. The inspiration of the Gods. Beauty beyond belief.
Thank you all for being here and your appreciation. When zaadz came with the new video feature in blogs last year, I saw this video in google but did not post it at once, just waiting for the right timing. Then somebody came up to me and ask me if I could feature this also in my blog so that more people can see this which I did. Thank you also for people who emailed me personally thanking me for sharing this. Annisa , Quan Yin is portrayed sometimes with these many hands as a metaphor for being compassionate and helping countless people who are in need (a lot of times at the same time). Quan Yin was just an ordinary person who became a bodhisattva and vowed to help all sentient beings attain enlightenment before she get her own enlightenment. Each of us can be great like her and countless other bodhisattvas, saints, avatars if we develop ourselves to awaken to our true nature which is pure love and develop compassion for all sentient beings.

Samme, that was fabulous. Beautiful. Goddess-y. I loved it!
This video is absolutely incredible in every facet – the dance, the dancers, the spirit, the artistic beauty, everything… Thank you so much for finding this and sharing it here!
Quan Yin is known by several names, ie: Amida Butsu (Japanese and Shin Buddhism), Amitabha Buddha (Chinese for the male manifestation), Avalokiteshvara (Sanskrit), and a few others.

Hi An Tien!
I believe that Amitabha/Amida (we bought an Amitabha Buddha statue just the other day :) was actually Kuan Yin's/Avalokiteshvara's spiritual teacher. Please see here for example .
Amitofo!
A truly SPECTACULAR exemplar performance of deaf-mutes
- acting in balance and harmony as ONE.
A demonstration for ALL of us 6.5 billion on earth - @zaadz most particularly - of the
HERE & NOW experience of the moment - which is open to us if we also join together in unison to rejoice and celebrate being AS ONE with mother nature itself - having awakened to THE understanding that we are INDEED - THE sun - THE moon - THE stars
A most fitting tribute to the WISDOM of Kuan Yin - the Chinese godess of COMPASSION.
Great post and project. Just wonderful!
