In Praise of Famous Immigrants

Superman, having came from the planet Krypton is being asked for his "green card".
I present here a list (in no particular order) and ask you to consider how different United States would have been, in ways both big and small, positive and negative, had these people - and thousands more like them - never set foot on our shores and contributed to who we all are:
Albert Einstein - physicist (Germany), Mikhail Baryshnikov - ballet dancer (Russia), Bob Hope - actor (United Kingdom), Zubin Mehta - musical conductor (India), Hakeem Olajuwon - basketball player (Nigeria), Arnold Schwarzenegger - actor/politician (Austria), Eddie Van Halen - musician (Netherlands), Madeleine Albright - former Secretary of State (Germany), Vladimir Nabokov - author (Russia), William Shatner - actor (Canada), Sammy Sosa - baseball player (Dominican Republic), Neil Young - musician (Canada), Isabel Allende - author (Chile), Wolfgang Puck - chef (Austria), I.M. Pei - architect (China), Elie Wiesel - human rights activist (Romania), Yo-Yo Ma - cellist (France), Irving Berlin - composer (Russia), Col. Tom Parker - Elvis' manager (Netherlands), Gloria Estefan - singer (Cuba), Gene Simmons - leader of Kiss (Israel), John Muir - naturalist (United Kingdom), Martina Navratilova - tennis player (Czech Republic), Anthony Quinn - actor (Mexico), Alexander Graham Bell - inventor (Scotland), Felix Frankfurter - Supreme Court justice (Austria), Wayne Gretzky - hockey player (Canada), Liz Claiborne - fashion designer (Belgium), Sidney Poitier - actor (Bahamas), Carlos Santana - musician (Mexico),
and me (Zaadz ambassador).
Which ones would you have turned away?

Help

Probably would not be much diffenent. We really need a Ghandi, Mother Theresa, or some kind of person with Heart in this land / country known as the United States. In fact maybe we should give this place back to the Native Americans and let them rule for a while.
At least we could all dress up in feathers and dance together around a campfire.
What a great blog. I never considered Superman an immigrant before. Shoot, he was as “illegal” as it gets too. No visa, no green card, no nothin'. And he did jobs no one else wanted to do…like save the world.
Thanks for this.
Blessings to you.
Namaste, Kevin and thank you. Blessings to you too.
